Dental Plaque

A clear sticky substance in the mouth that clings to the teeth gums is known as dental plaque. Improper oral habits pave way for plaque accumulation on the teeth and gums. When we do not brush or floss properly after having food items such as milk, sugar, sweets, candy, cakes etc. may cause developing plaque. Bacteria that live in the mouth develop as a result of irregular oral practices. These bacteria come in to contact with the food particles in the mouth and produce acids. These acids cause damages and may result in tooth decay. Plaque causes damage to the bone that supports the tooth as they develop under the gums.
